Tho "Evangeline" in a brand new
and modern, up-to-date ship in every
particular. She la 364 feet long, 4 *i
foot beam, ban 5,000 tons register,
202 staterooms, equipped throughou
with electric lights ^nd fans, and
has a upeed of eighteen knots.
Tills splendid ship will leave Key
West in the morning on arrival of
the Atlantic Coast Line Florida
East Coast "Over-Sea" train from
the North, on January 7 and 21,
February 4 and 18, March 4 and IK,
and April 1 and 15, Hailing direct
to Colon, where a atop of two days
will be made, which will give pas
sengers ample opportunity to ln'spcc
the Panama Canal, the greatest piec
of engineering or other construction
work known to mankind. On the re
turn trip a two-day stop , will be
made at Kingston, where quaint and
tropical Jamaica may be explored,
and will be fully enjoyed. The
"Evangeline" will sail thence to Ha
vana t<4 discharge passengers desir
ing to stop there, and the tickets
will be good to return to Key West
on any of the every-week-day sail
lugs of the regular line.
Tho tour will consume eleven day
and the rate for the entire trip, in
cluding meals and berth at sea and
in port, will be $110. Tickets will
permit stop-overs so that a longor
stop enn be made at Colon, Kingston
or Havana, for passengers desiring
to do so.
Sailing dates, itineraries and infor
mat ion regarding reservations, con
nections, etc., may be obtained from
Atlantic Coast Lino representatives,
or by addressing T. C. White, the
General Passenger Agent of that
line, at Wilmington, N. C. /
James H. Scarborough, a well
known farmer and lumberman died
at his residence in Sumter Tuesday.

reau is the promotion of agricultural

will tend to raise the whole tone of
commercial, industrial and farm llfe.

the farm.

Is necessary. Not only the bigness,
but the perfection of the International

fessor Holden. The big'general agen
cies, scattered all over the United
States and Canada; the salesmen,
travelers and expert machine men; -

fruits, cattle, horses, poultry, and so
