A small but charming function
of the. week was the dinner party on
Tuesday evening, at the handsome
home of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Shan
non, wjth Miss Harriett Shannon an

guests of honor. The rooms were
simply, but effectively decorated
in autumn leaves and cut flowers.

ing room was beautifully laid for
the occasion, with centerpiece of
flowers and ferns. Course after
course of delectable viands were
served, and after the cafe noir, the
gnests went into the adjoining, par
lor where three tables of bridge
i were formed. The charming cordi
| ality of the hostess and the spark
: ling vivacity of the guests made the
