Death of Mr. William Wallace.
Died at bis hnoie on upper Main
street in our city, on Saturday last
at 2 o'clock p. in., Mr. William
Wallace, aged 84 years.
Ho was a mun of generous im
pulse and never forgot the hospi
table ways of the pioneer. The
stranger, even though a beggar,
never failed.to find food and shel
ter if he sought it at his bands,
and he was at h^me by the bedside
of the sick and delighted in all
and neighborly offices. He filled
the various relations of life as aon,
husband, father, brother, friend,
and filled them well. Who can do
mor*?

is stricken from the ever lessening
roll of our old settlers, and a large
circle of friends are left to attest
how sadly they miss him. It must
be so; these tender human ties can
not be severed without a pang. Yet
in such a death tbere ia really no
cause for grief. His life work was
done, and well dono. He had pass
ed his golden wedding day and
weary with life's duties and cares,
weary with suffering and waiting,
he lay down to rest.

With never a dream and never a fear,

, He was a man who united sound
sense with strong convictions. He
believed in the fatherhood of God
and the brotherhood of man. He

man sympathy and human happi
ness, is following in the foctsteps
of his Matter.
