The John D Kennedy Chapter U.
D. O met with Mrs. F. Brace Davis
and Miss Reynolds at their beautiful
hotao, on Monday ofternoon, April
4th. There wa9 quite a largo num
ber of members present, and the
meeting was quite an enthusiastio
one The Chapter decided to hare a
dinner for the survivors of our "Lost
Cause" on Memorial Day, May 10th.
The Richard^ Kirkland monument
will be unveiled that day and it is
tlie wish of the Chapter to have all
of tlie old soldiers present. A com
mittee was appointed to obtain as
far eg possible the names of all vet
erans of Kershaw County and to so
licit contributions for the dinner.
This committee will report to Chap,
ter at a called meeting to bd held' at
the home of Mrs. Douglas Roykin
1st Vice President, on April 18th. It
was moved and seconded that reso
lutionn be prepared expressing sor
row of Chapter on death of a mem
ber? Mrs. E. O. MoCreight, and sym

cense ordinance adopted by the Oity
of Camden on the 19th day of April,
1010, for tho present fiscal year, and
passed and ordaimd as a special ordi
nnnce to raise supplies for the tiacul
year rndingApril 30,1911 That every
person, firm or corporation, engaged
or intending to er7J?ago in any trhde,
business or profession hereinafter
mentioned, within tho lirnitu of the
I City of Camden, shall first, obtain a
license from the Clerk and Troasurer,
and all licenses herein mentioned
shall be nontransferable and (or the
fisoal year, if not otherwise specially
provided. And all annual licenses*
shall expire on- April 30th, 1911, bat
may be revoked at any time by the
Mayor or City Council.
Sec II. All licenses for the year
granted under this Ordinance shall
continue in forco until the 80th day
of April next Itacceeding the date of
isfue^ and no liceuse, oxcept as pro
vlded'for by limitation, per diem or
month, shall be issued for less time
or rate than one year. The City Clerk
and Treasurer shall prepare a proper
form to be issued in eaoh case.
