Death of Capt. T. W Sligh
Our community was Bhockod and
grieved on Wednesday evening last
when the announcement was made
that Cspt T W. Sl'gh, father of Mrs
C. W. Birchmore. had died by his
own hacds, at tho homo of Mrs.
Bircemore whero he has been visit
ing for somo time. About n year ngo
Capt Sligh's wife died, and it is said
he has not been himself since, and
the constant brooding ovor his loss
Caused him to commit tho rash act
Cnpt. Sligh wns 72 years of ago. He
was a Confederate veteran and eerv
ed faithfully through the entire war
lie was a gentleman of culturo and
refinement and to be in his company
