A meeting ofjthe Chapter was held
this afternoon at tho residence of Mrs,
M, A. Shannon. Owing to the inclern
enoy of the weather this was not a
large meeting, though a very pleasant
one. There were several important
matters of business under discussion,
especially in regard to the old court
house, now known as the D. A. ft,
Chapter building. It was decided tp
replace (as far as it will go) the iron
fence, and enclose the rest of the yard
with a neat iron fence. This is abso
lutely necessary before Twe can have
town protection Much trespassing
has already been done to the detriment
of building and premises.
Several entertainments were gottep
up by the entertainment committee the
past season for tho purpose, and much
credit is due these ladles for their un
tiring efforts, and for the nice amount
realized. "
Discussion ? "Condition of the Col
onics at the close of the Revolution"
was opened by Miss Henrietta D.
Zemp. This interesting subject was
discussed at length and enjoyed by r.ll
present,
