How To Build A Bridge.

A gontleman from near Candle's
Mill, speaking of the fact that the
bridge tb.ore'was not washed away
tbe other week, told eometbiDg pe
culiar about its construction. It
stems that quite a number of
biidges had been washed away from

ham took the contract a few years
ago to ereot the present bridge. He
conceived the tdea of curving the
bridge up stream slightly, instead
of running it straight across the
stieam, and the high waters pushed
the cuive out of the bridge, ? but
