county lest Friday in the Court
House. The meeting was called to
order by County Chairman T J.
Ktrkland and opened with prayer
by Rey. L. A. Mitchell.

Johnston, Lumpkin, Martin, Rhett
and bmith. AH the candidates
have supporters here but it eeeius

which is just south of Hlauey, had,
its closing exerciaes on last Friday
night. This school has been taught
during Iho past. term by Miss Jen
nie Lawton Harper of Harnwell,
oue of the most accomplished and
successful teachers in tho State.

The recitations, dialogues, etc ,
rendered by the children were high
ly creditable, and showed the re
