Be it Ordained by the City Coun
cil of the City of C linden, S. C.,
that it shall be unlawful for any one
whomsoever to construct, use or
maintain any ceavpool, dry closet
or similar device within the City of
Camden, S. C.; that all persons
having ' upon their premises*
withm il;e City of Camden any
water closet, urinal, kitchen sink,
jMnlry sink, iaomlry trays, hath- 1
tub, wash-bowl or lavatory shall be
and are hereby required to connect
same with the public sewerage sys
tem of the City of Camden; that
any person vi?>lat?nj? the terms of
this Ordinance shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor and upon conviction
thereof shall be fined in the sum of
fifty (?50.00) dollars or be impris
oned for a period of fifteen (15)
days. Provided that this Ordinance
shall not no into effect until the first
day of July, A. D. 1908, and that
all connections made with the pub
lic sewerage system shall be done
under the direction of the City En
gineer or Inspector of 'Sewers and
Plumbing; and provided further,
that lavatories in private residences
may be exempt from the terms of
this Ordinance upon the recommen
dation of the Committee on Water,
Lights and Sewerage of the City
Council of Camden.
