Death of Mrs. Nolaou.
M re. Kmma Sarah Nelgon, relict
' of the late Col. P. H. Nelson, died
in Columbia on tho 25th inst. at the
home of her son, Col. P. H.- Nelson.
Mrs. Nelson wao a woman of many
sterling traits of character and of
great personal magnetism, and was
greatly admired and beloved by a
large circle of relatives and ac
quaintances. Among other char
acteristics, great dignity, combined
with graciousness and gentleness,
wero distinguishing traits. None
who knejw her can over * forget the
pharm of her personality. She was
the sister of Qjjr esteemed feljow
townsman, Mnj. J?, B. Caniey, and
bad reached the advapced oge of
eighty-two yeais. She leaves two
