After careful delibetation, Dr. J.
B. Holley, pastor of the Second Bap
tist church In Augustn, has decided
to decline a call recently received
from the leading Baptist church at
Millen, Go.
The Millen congregation is one of
the strongest in that section of the
state, and the action they took a
week ago In unanimously oalling
*Mr. Holley was a compliment deep

Mr. Holley hr-d been giving the
matter earnest and prayerful con
sideration, and yesterday decided
that he would remain here. He

Mr. J. A. Johnson, ono of the
beet and most highly esteemed cit
izens of eastern Kershaw, died last
Monday evening. Mr. Johnson
was of n quiet, peacable and inof
feusive nature. Ho was u devoted
husband, a kind father and n good
neighbor. It is with deep regret
i h at we learn of his death and to
his bereaved family we tender our1
deepest sympathy. The burial
took place at Antioch Church.

Jr, Feb, 8. Only twelve members

Mrs. Harry liaum not wishing to
accept the office, of Treasurer, ten

stead. There not being a quotum
present the election was postponed
till tho next meeting. The Presi
dent was requested to take charge1
