I.?At a meet ing of the congregation of the First Presbyterian Church, held after services Suuday morning, Rev. I)r (J. M. Richards, now pastor of the:Statoevil!e, N. C-, church, whs unanimously recommended by the committee as the man who should receive the call to this Church. Upon this recommendation a ballot was taken and Dr. Richards was unanimously elected pastor of the Rock Hill Church. A committee of live was chosen from the gcne-ral committee of fif teen, which hsa had charge of the selection of a pastor and this com. miltee will prepare and prosecute the call before Presbytery. The action of the committee of fifteen was taken after long consideration and meets with the approval of the entire congregation. It will be re membered that J)r. Richards has within the last two weeks received calls ftom two v?tlier churches? those of Davidson. N. C., and Greenwood. Death of Mr. J. H. Morris. Mr. J. If. Motrin, superintend ent of the Stale farm at Hagoods, died on Tuesday night laal, (il Bright's disease, and whs burled in the Camden cemetery on Wednes day afternoon at 3 o'clock. Mr. Morris came from Marlboro county and wus about 54 years of ?ge. He was a moat honorable gentleman and was held in the verj highest esteem by all who knew him. A widow and five children survive him 10 whom we tender deepest sympathy.
