C. Boyd, adjutant and inspector
general was stricken with paralysis
this afternoon, between 4 aud 5
o'clock, while ho waa visiting his
daughter on College street. The
stroke was very sudden. In speak
ing of hla condition to-night the at
tending physician said that he con
sidered Col. Boyd seriously til, and
he doubts very much if he will bo
able to tnke the oath of ollloc on J an.
15. The attack was on the right siile
and that side is utterly helpless
this evening. The Colonel has been
conscious at all times since the
stroke and said tonight that he
had been feeling unwell only today.
Jan. -1.?The latest reports from
Col. Boyd is that his condition is
not encouraging.
