our best citizens and lie leaves many
staunch friends who sincerely mourn
his death. The forneral was held
on Monday afternoon from Grace
Church and the burial was at the
Camden Cemetery.
Success of Succoaec*.
The sale which has been goinp
on for several days at the store of
Mr M. B aum can justly bo termed
a "success of successes " We drop
ped in their a few days ago and
buyers thronged the store from
front to rear. So Great was the
rush that ""the old reliable," cripple
though he it*, was forced to wait on
customers. We were informed by
Mr Baum, however, that this was
a common occurrence ? business is
good with him all the time. This
great sale is still in progress. See
his attractive ad.
Polo.
The polo game on last Monday
afternoon between Orlando and
Camden wai very good. The line
up was iX9 follows: Orlando; Wood
ruff, Pell, Cotton and Gwyuno;
Camden; Smith, Konnedy, Harstow
and Wbiatler. The score was 3-4
to 20 1-2 in. favor of Camden.
The game ou Wednesday after
noon was better matched and, of
course, more exciting. The lineup
for Orlando was tlio game ai that
of Monday, but Camden put out
her second team composed of the
following players , ivilmond, Bull,

t ho following rulea were adopted
for governing the primary elections
of the city of Camd<?n for 190G:
1 That 10 days before the time
hereinafter fixed for the holding of
the primary election it shall be the
duty of the City Kxecutivo Com
mittee, through itn Chairman, to
notify the President or other pre- 1
aiding ofllcer of each club that til
primary election for the several;

ceipt of euelt notification the presid*

notice of holding such election, aa
sol forth in the notification of the j
City Kxeoufcive Committee, such no
tice to be given by publication there

pouting such at the polling places.
:i. On the 3rd Tuesday in March

election for tho nomination of a
mayor and an alderman from such
ward.
4. The polls ahull ho opened at
8 o'clock A. M., ami kept open witli
out intermission tur til 4 1'. M., when j
they shall be closed.
5. At ouch ward precinct there
shall bo three (3) Managers of Eloc
(ion appointed by the Executive
Committee, who shall he members
of snch ward club. Should any
manager ho unable to serve, his
place shall be supplied by the City
Chairman. And if a msjority of
tho regular appointed managers
fail to eorve the vote in suoh ward
may not be counted by the Excutive
Committee.
G. The Executive Committee shall
furnish a ballot box for each ward,
for tho* secure keeping of which
tho managers shall be reponsible.
Immediately before opening the
polls the managers and their clerks
shall repeat the following pledge:
"I do solemnly pledge my sacred
honor that I will faithfully perform
all the duties incident to my posi
tion as manager of the primary elec
tion to the best of my ability."
[ The clerk usiug the term "clerk"
instead of "managors.'']
7. At the opening of the polls
tho ballot boxes shall be emptiod of
all contents and exhibited by the
managers to all persons in utten
dance upon tho polls. The boxes

this purpose shall appoint a clerk.

11. The voting shall be by ballot;
in one box every voter to cast a

thus forwarding the managers shall

all the duties incident to my po
sition as messenger of the primary
election to the best of my ability."
15. Tho Executive Committee
shall meet on the next tiny after
the election at 12 m., and tho Sec
retary, having in its presenco open
od the boxes anil tabulated tbe re.
turns, shall publishvthe aggregate re
turns in the presence of the commit
tee iu open session.
16. If any person shall havo re
ceived a majority of all the votes
cast for the oilice for which he ia a
candidate, he shall be declared the
nominee of the Democratic party lor
such office.
17. If for any oflice it be found
that no candidate ban received a
majority of all the votes oast at. the
primary election for such oflice,
the City Executive Committee Khali
forthwith communicate the result
to the several clubs, and in like
manner as herein hofore prescribed
order a second primary election to
be held on the 4th Tuesday in
| March after the election. Second
; election shall he held under tho
| same rules as tho first.
18. At such second primary elec
tion only 'ho two candidates r?\

City Executive Committee to hear
