mander J. W. Ward, to the armory of
tlio Washington Light Infantry, of

having beeu inscribed on the roll fifty
years ago. The colors of Camp
Sumter, which had often been oarried
by W." Kelsey Steed man, wore borne
by Ensign Frederick H. Honour.
He and Major Stoedmao joined the
Washington Light Infantry at the
game time. Members of Camp Sum
ter, of the Washington Light Infantry
and of Pythagorean liodgo formed h
guard of honor over the body of their
loved and lamented comrade.
Several handsome floral wreaths
were placed above the pulseless
breast of the dead hero as he lay, olsd
in the full uniform of Confederate
gray. They came from Savauah nnd
nilently, yet eloquently, attested the
esteem and regard in , which Mnjor
Steed man was held by the, noble and
patriotic people of that city.
A laurel wreath, beautifully de
signed, was sent by the Savannah
Chapter, Daughters of the Confed
eracy. The offer ing of Hie Con fed
crate 'Veterana' Association, of Sa
vnnualt, is highly artistic and partiu
ularly appropiiate. Inside gf a largo
laurel wreath thero is exquisitely
