9<'3 votes and Mr. MTcCalla 4.50:5. A eon- j
siderablo proportion of the whole dis
trict has been heard from with the ex
ception of Oconee county, and it is not
likely that later returns will materially
modify Mr. Aiken's majority.
In the Sixth district Mr. Ragsdalo
leads with 3,191 votes, his plurality be
ing due In large measure to almost una
nimous support that he had in Florence
county. Mr. Kllerbe follows with 2,091,
but as Mr. Norton has 2,333 and Mr.
Dargan 1,828 it is anybody's race until
tho last ballot In the second primary
Is counted.
In the Second district the race will be
between Messrs. Mayfleld and Fatter
son. The former has 4.339 votes and
the latter 4,349. This Is too close to be
comfortable for either. Two thousand
aiid seventeen votes are reported fot
Mr. Williams.
In the race for solicltorshlps in tho
Second and Seventh circuits Messrs.
Davis and Sease. the incumbents, win
In a canter over their opponents.
In the Fifth circuit the second raco
will be hetwen Messrs. Tlinmerman and
Rombcrt, Mr. Tlmmerman, however,
having distanced all of his competi
tors. Mr. Tlmmerman receivod 2,348
votes against 1,900 for the next man.
The Indications at 2:30 o'clock this

been re-elected In Charleston by a ma
jority of 400 and these are likely to bo
substantiated.
