the death of Mrs. J. A. MeCreight
from the Clieraw Chronicle. Mrs;
MeCreight was a cousin Qf Messrs.
K. O. MoCreight and S. M. C.
Moore, of our town and visited hero
/aet summer: . .
M rs^Jam^s A. MeCreight died at
l?er home in this town on Saturday
night, May 14th, at 9 o'elock, after
a long aiid pniuful Illness.
Mrs. MeCreight was a noble
Christian woman, affectionate to
her loved oues and kiud to every
body. She embraced religion in
early life, and up to her death wnt>
a devoted Christian aud a faithful
member of the Presbyterian church.
The monfi'er was met as a welcome
messnnger to bear her spirit to its
heavenly home.
The funeiKl services were held
Sunday aiteruoon in the Presby
terian church, conducted by the
pastor, Uev. A. H. McArn, and the
interment was in St. David's ceme
tery. It was a end funeral, and yet
the oh in of separation was greatly
mitigated bv the positive assurance
that the spirit of the deceased had
winged its flight far beyond the
source of the ntorm cloud, to dwell
with Christ forever.
