Dr. W. W. Russell of Baltimore
after a visit oi a fortnight to Dr.
J. W. Corbett has returned to his
home, expressing great pleasure in
the enjoyment of Camden's lovely
climate, puro atmostpherw and
healthgiving surroundings. It in
a great prlvilego to have such a
distinguished guest in our midst
who is so enthusiastio over the ad
vantages of our little city. lie
was the recciptent of many social
attentions and all regret to see him
leave.
Mrs. Bratlon DeLoache and Miss
Charlotte Kershaw arrived on Tues
day for a visit to their old home
and to^ attend their neice, Miss
Shannon's marriage.
A largo number of Columbians
came over on Wedueeday morning
and returned after the wedding re
ception at Mr. and Mrs C. J. Shan
non's the same night. A mong them
were Messrs. W. M. Shannon and
Randolph W. Shannon, brothers of
the bride.
Inspection of Kerhaw Guards.
The annual inspection of the
Kershaw Guards was held last
Wednesday afternoon. As usual
our soldier boys did well, the in
specting officer stating that they

State.

Mr- John S. (J unnin^ham, died
at his lnme At Libery Hill on .Sat
urday the 2nd day of April after a
long illness, agrd 62 years, Mr.
Cunningham served faithfully dur
ing tho four years of the Confederate
war. He loaves a widow, two sons

Regarding the result of the polo

not at all discouraged. The con

men," Mr. Werlein said, In conclu
sion "and ? it 'is a satisfaction* to
meet tbem either on the field or
