Shrovoport, La., Special. ? Joseph
Craddock, a negro, wan lynched by
an Infuriated mob, compound chiefly
of black** at Taylorstown, about 17
miles from Shreveport Sunday night.
He approached the home of Wes
ley Chambers, a negro cotton picker,
and called him out. After whisper
ing to him and as Chambers turn
ed to leave, Craddock spli? his hf&d
with an axe. The "Craddock mutilat
ed the body of tho dying man fright
fully. Then, observing Dan Washing
ton, another negro, he cropt upon him
and struck fcira on the head with the
edge of the axe. Not satisfied with
this, ho went to the door of the cabin
and called Chambers brother. Mer
cer, to tho door. Mercer unsuspecting
ly came and was at once beaten down
and frightfully injured. Wesley Cham
bers dlod almost instantly. Mercer
dl$d Monday afternoon and Wash
ington cannot live. After committing
tlio triple murder, Craddock walk
ed to Taylorstown and mingled with
