An Exciting Runaway.
On Monday morning last a horse
and buggy were tnado ready for Mrs.
Hf. L. Hums to rido . d^wn street.
Tho horse, otherwise perfectly gentle,
is afraid of a top bug^y and from

presence of mind Mrs. Hums hold on
to the rolna and succeeded in koep
ing the thoroughly xfild and exalt

most unfortnnate occurrence. The
runaway was witnessed by many
who looked on awstricken, ? power
less to render the least assistance,
and when it became know that Mrs.
Burns was not hurt many wero the
thanksgiving prayers for the safe de
liverance of (his estimable lady, and
the brave work of Mr Rush is spok
of in no unstinted praise.
