gave two exhibitions in Camden

depot. Everyone who attended
seemed highly pleased with the

Wade Murphy, a negro man who
lius been In the employ of Mr. H.
G. Garrison for a long time, drop
pod dead on Friday last, at the
Heruiitige plantation. Wade waft

with Mr. Carrison for about
seventeen years.
On Sunday last Hen Webb, son
of Capt. B. C. Webb, ef Columbia,
was killed by lightning near Char
leston. lie left Charleston on Sun
day morning for a rabbit hunt on
Jnmes Island. Capt. Webb, the
young man's father, it will be re
membered is a member of the State
dispensary board.
The entertainment given at the
colored Melhodjnt church Inst Mon
day eight iw said to have been a
very good one. The music was
rendered in a highly creditable
manner to the sine^rs. Champion
Dickinson one of the singers once
lived here in Cnmden. They also
