S. A. L. Trestle Swept Away.
The Seaboard Air Lino trestle ov

swept away by the freshet-. The
trestle was a temporary wooden one
that was to bo uMcd until tho river
bridge oould bo erected. This acoi
dent will greatly delay the comple
tion of the road, but wo understand

tho steel bridge will also be pushed
as rapidly as possible.
Great ?apprehension was felt that
when it cave away that it would car
ry with it the iron passenger bridge
a few hundred yards below. The on
ly thing, it is said, that saved tin*
iron bridge was that tho wooden
bridge gave away before the, river
pot. any higher, it being only 2;?.J
feet, which allowed room enough tor
most of the timbers to pass under
the iron bridge.
