The show given at the Opera
House on Tuesday night, last "The
Jay from Jayavillc" was one of the
greatest cheats ever palmed otf on
n Camden audience and to say tliM

disgusted is expressing it very
mildly indeed. It was very much1

We take the following from the
Lancaster Review of the 8th >e
garding a shooting which occurred
in that town on Monday last:
"Mr. R. J. Mack ircll, of the well
known brokerage film of Knight ?fc
Mackorell of this pln.-'o, was serious
ly shot in a difllculty here Monday
morning with merchant John ,7.
Blackmon and his brother, Mr. Will
Blackmon who is one of las clerks.
The shooting occurred in Mr.
Blackmou'a store, about the ofllcoj
in the rear end, where it it said,
Mr. Mackoicll had pone to trans, j
net some business connected with
his firm. In the ?1 illicit 1 ' y that'
arose three shots were fired, one of
lite bullets passing thrcu gh Mr.
Muckorell's body, and another lodg
ing in hi? coat pocket, where it
was fuuod em^Tedrted in somo pa
pers. The third bullet evidently
went wide of its mark, as it has
not been found. The tiring at
tracted a lar^e crowd, and as soon

taken into l he store adjoining his
brother-in-law, Mr. ,J. $. Riddle, ami
medical aid was summoned. lie
was afterwards carried to his home,
where his physician, I)r. M. P.
Crawford, assisted by Drs. Mat-key,
Poovey nod Moore, dressed his
wound and did everything pog9ible
lo relieve hie intense suffering. At
* this writing, Tuesday, Mr. Mack
orell'e condition is unchanged.

brothers were arre^t^d and Jvdged
