The three squares extending from
the State, War and Navy Department
to tho Treasury building had boon

reviewing stand. Tho enthusiasm wa*

ly applauded as they uncovered their

Another interesting and significant
incident was tho chccring of Sousa's
new march, "Hands Across tho Sea."

ling air as the reviewing stsnd was
reached. Tho applause which irreeted
it was fctartcd by tho diplomats, .spread
throughout tho stand, and broke into a
roar of cheers along the whole length
of the ojurt of honor.
