It is said that there is good in ev eiy evil. This evil has shown to us that we have the liest neighbors in the world for it was only by the prompt assistance rendered by Messrs. W. II. Zemp, and P. T. Villepigue who both happened to be at dinner at the time, that the building was saved. Tliey had the fire completely extinguished ? when we arrived. They exempli fied in a most practical manner the spirit of the following lines: Thv neighbor? II in he whom thou hast power to ?id and bless, Whose aching head or burning brow ahy soothing hand mftv press. To them we (as well as the in surance company) owe a ? debt of lasting gratitude. The house Btand^to-day a monument to their goodness, cool-headedness and ca pacity for acting in an emergency. And the kind attention reudered to - members of our family by thtytgen tle, christian ladies will never be forgotten. Valuable service wan , 'also rendered by Dock Frasier and others, colored. The origin of the fire is unknown. When discovered it was burning in the wall of the upper story between the plastering and weatherboarding. The house was insured in the North British & Mercantile Company, represent ed here by those excellent gcntlb-J men Messrs. D. R. Williams, Jr., and R. Y. Steedman, who have tak en prompt steps to repair the dam ages, amounting to about &10. We cheerfully recommend them to all who want good insurance. To all who came to our rescue we wish to reiterate our thanks. May God bless them all. k AFFECTS EVERY ORGAN, That Most Dreadful of Diaeases ? Chronic Catarrh.
