pents with vermilion hued bodies,
rockets bursting forth into a broad
sproad of liquid gold with streams of
glittering radiancy lighting up pretty
parachutes, willow tree rockets, dia
mond chain rook els-? rocket s without
end. Then tho number and variety
of wheels] "Whoelft with a brilliant
outer ring encircling an inaido ring of
rod or green, contra revolving wlmols
with pota of Jiro in variegated colors,
colored double triangle wheels, etc.
Tho motive power of these delightful
displays is simply duo to tho rapid
evolution of gas. Ono has but to
light tho fuso in order to produco gas
with HnOioiont rapidity to press
against tho air and thus impel tho
picco forward in its course.
Tho wheel is used as a motive power
in Homp very funny act pieces. I was
shown tho skeleton of a donkey out
lined by tho lanoes and quick match
in tho manner which I have described.
Attached to it was a wheel which
when sot in motion by alighting, acted
upon tho legs of tho donkey in a most
lively and vivacious manner.

Lynched for the Usual Crime. I
A negro named Harry Gilliam wan
forcibly taken from tho Monroo county,
(Miss.) jail lato Monday night, carried
fivo miles from town and hung to a tree
in tho middle of tho big road, whero
his body was found. Ho was tho negro
charged with having robbed a whito
woman at Okolona, and attempting a
QriminaJ> assault upon her. Ho was
rccogrtized by her out of a party of half
a dozen arrested aa hoing tho guilty

lona, fearing a lynohing, removed tho
negro to Monroo county jail, at Aber
deen.

A derrick on the roof of a new build"
