Mrs. Mary Burdell, wifo of Mr.
Jos. Uu retell , of West Wateree, died
at 12 o'clock on Wo^nosday night

I and was 37 years of age. Before
her marriage Mra. Hurdell was
Miss Mary Dinkins and was a
daughter of Mrs. Martha Dinkins.
Deceased leaves many friends and
rolatives with whom wo deeply
sympathize.

A Plucky Preacher's Wifo.
On last Saturday night while
lie v. J. W. Davis was away from
home, having gone to fill his ap
pointment at a church in the up
per part of the county, three negro
men went to his house, coming up
on the front piazza and rapping.
