Last Saturday night Mr. J. L.
Brasington, cheif of police, trailed
another tiger to his^lair. Tho vio
lator this lime is Isaac Thorn, col
ored, who runs a restaurant in lhe
rear of the old Jones building on
t he corner <?f Broad and Dt-Kalb
streets. Mr. Hrasingtoi^ found in
Isaac's poscssjion live half pint hot
lies, one <|uart bottle and
one jug of corn . whiskey, all of
which was confiscated. The
raid is quite a surprise to many
as it was thought thai Isaac
was faithfully plying his vocaliou
of feeding the hungry, whereas it
t^oee ins that ho was lilted up for ac
commodating both the hungry and
thirsty.

was brought to Camden on Wed

Mr. and Mrs. Willie Burkett, of

Mrs. Burgess J.-sey died in Oi
nngeburg on last Saturday. Spenk
ing of her death the Orangehurgc
Times and Democrat says: "The
whole communitv was saddened last

for some time with pneumonia, but
