Columbia, and testified to financial
relaionships between South Carolina
cottonseed mills and ginners. The
ginners, he said, solicited loans and
usually repaid them the same 63ason.
Mr. Culvern, manager of the large
Kershaw Oil Mill, was subpoenead
to appear before the federal investi
gators Friday after B. F. Taylor, sac
retary of the South Carolina division
of' the National Cottonseed Products

"Yes, my interests made advances
to gins with the understanding h:u
they were to sell the Kershaw mill
their seed at market prices," Mr. Cul
vern stated when questioned by W. B

ed by the ginners, he said he thought,
