Special Term of Court to Ue Held
Week of July 21
A special term of court has been
ordered for Lancaster county to com
mence on Monday, July 21 in, order
to investigate matters contained in
the report of the grand jury nt the
recent term of court. Acting Chief
Justice T. P. Oothran is ordering the
special term of vcourt at the request
of Soltcitor Harry Hines of this dis
trict who has disqualified himself in
the matter.
In the report of the grand jury j
Ira B. J owes, Jr. and E. M. Croxton j
wer? |?*?eented for violations of thv i
state banking laws. The jurors also J
charged that the state bank examin
er wm derelict in hlB duty in nllow- j
in$r the First Bank & Trust Company
to operate when he knew that it wan
insolvent.
In his petition to the chief justice,
Solicitor- Hines presented the follow
ing among other things: ?
"That the grand jury of I^ancas
ter county at the June, 1^30 term
presented Ifa B. ./ones, now receiver
of the Fhet Bank A Trust Company,
a banking institution formerly of
said county, and E. M... Croxton, for
mer vice presider.it and cashier of aaid
bank, for certain alleged violations
of the banking law* of this ntate,
also, rcoonwnending that the said Ira
B. Jones, Jr., be removed as such re
ceiver."
