amination held on the third instant

Friday, the 10th Instant, the exami
nations for Clemson and the Univer
sity were held There was one appli
cant for the University, one for the
one year course at Clemson and fif
teen for the full four year course

We have paused ujion all bills hand
ed to us by the Solicitor.
We beg to report the Jail In good
condition. We recommend that a sill
be placed under the building near the
fire place, replacing the old one which
has rotted away. We would also re
commend that the yard be leveled up.
We wish again to call the attention
of the authorities to our several re
commendations as to the putting of
lights In the jail building. We find ,
that this part of our recommendation ;
seemed to have fallen flat. We hope
that we will not again have to take
this matter up.
We find the court house In splendid
condition ? neatly kept and everything
In tine slini>e. We beg to recommend ,
that two columns be placed under the
gallery, as it is deemed unsafe while
holding a crowded court.
We tlnd?that the County Home Is In
splendid condition, and the inmates
are well 'cared for and well satisfied.
We are glad to report tlinf the roads
thruout the county are In good condi
tion.
We recommend that the telephone
poles on the Liberty Hill road leading
out from Caindeu, from Vaughan's
Mill to W. W. Huckabee's place be im
mediately removed from the road side,
as they are too near to the road.
We recommend that the S. A. L.
railway crossing on the Rldgeway road
be raised at once.
Wo will, through our committee on
books, make a final report at the next
court.
