CHERAW CHRONICLE
JOE LINDSAY, Editor
Should Churches be Neglected.
In the building of His temple, we are
told in the Bible that God gave instructions
for every minute detail,
such as dimensions, material, etc. God
required the btylders to follow these
instructions to the' letter and showed
plainly that He wanted care exercised
so that His Holy Temple should be a
beautiful building. A few days ago
we had occasion to pass three of our
churches and we were struck with the
apparent need of repairs on all of
them. It doesn't cost a great deal to
paint and make a few repairs and we
i are sure even in these strenuous times
our people can arrange the necessary
expense, certainly to paint them if
nothing more.
Wo realize that our congregations
are expecting to build new churches
but as long as we are using the present
buildings as God's Houses of Worship
they should be kept just a?
sightly as nos-ible. Think of the impression
a stranger must get when 1
sees our churches sadly in need of
paint and repairs.
We feci that God?has told us plainly
how careful we should be to keep HI?
house beautiful and we hope that Clr
raw will not long be remits in the care
cf His houses here.

HOW ABOUT 1*01'I
Have you ever figured out your
tangible, negotiable assets and liabilities?
If you have not, you will find it
will surprise you.
We Americans base a man's financial
worth in terms of principal?
English and Frenchmen use the proper
way, i. e., in terms of income.
In using this method we ure not so
liable to confuse ourselves. -Twenty
thousand dollars seems a large sum
hut when you reduce it to terms of
income it looks pretty small when you
realize It will hardly yield $1500.00 a
year.

are more mouths to feed and more
bodies to clothe.
Life insurance is the unswer??t
least 00 per cent of all the money you
you save can be put into life insurance
so as to yield nearly 3 per cent if yon

you should die prematurely.
Think it over?then let us advise
