officially known as Compgny I. First
regiment of the Nutional Guard, returned
to- Cheraw yesterday afternoon
011 absence of six months. The company
marched frqm the statelon to
the armory where, ufter giving an
exhibition drill of several minutes i
. duration, they broke ranks.
The men were met at the depot by
a large crowd and were madee to feel
that their return home was a most
joyous occasion.
Iminedlatly after breakking ranks
an informal banquet was served the

of the town.
Capt. W. I4. (jilllsple and the other
officers of the company, speak in
highest terms of the loyalty and fine

The boys are not any more pleased
to be hack home than the home folks

I Mr. J. P. Watson, of the Pepsil
Cola Bottling Co., happened to a
peculiar accident tills morning. Coming
down town, driving his autotruck,

Watson and two boys who were with

' was pretty badly bruised, and little
John Thompson, one of the boys with
him. was badly Injured. *
It is thought one of his legs is
' broken, and quite a large piece of the
flesh was cut out. He will probably

hands claimed that it was at least 50
pounds heavier.
