Death of Mr. James A. Craig.
Mr. James A. Craig, one of the oidst
residents of Chesterfield died Tuesay
morning about 6 o'clock. He had
een in bad health for a long time, and
is death was not entirely enoxi>ected.
[ was once county surveyor. He was
memt>er of the Methodist church, and
Mason. Mr. Craig was 88 years old,
nd Is survived by his wife. The body

regular. As for news in camp,
there isn't much. The Second Regiment
'ins left for the target range and we
have orders to go on the 28th of Nov.
but I hope those orders will be changed
for we all would like very much to
be home by that time. But we have
not a ease of home sickness in the
whole company and I don't think we
will as long as the people at home
keep writing to us, for those letters
come in good?so keep them up.
We have a Y. M. C. A. right here
in camp nnd it helps to hold down camp
tedium. As for rats we have plenty
(mackeroni and cheese) sometimes we
have some hominy and beef. We generally
get plenty of sugar in our coffee
but sometimes we have to call for
more, but we don't mind that. It is
rumored around that we are going to
have our potatoes (spuds) fried for
Thanksgiving, so we have something
to look forward to.
Well, give my best regards to all
my friends and tell them that we have
not had a case of "infantile paralysis"
yet.
