The Winter Cantaloup. is planted
about the first of Juno. From throe |
to six seed are placed in a hill and are
covered with about three inches of soil
The hill should be some six to eight

parts of Phosphoric Acid, live (5) parts
of Nitrogen, and seven (7) parts of
Potash, or a high grade fertilizer will
he sellable lor this crop when applied
at the rate of six to eight hundred |
pounds per acre. Work fertilizer into
tin -oil thoroughly about each hill.
Tin < ultural methods are about the
same as for cantaloupes.. This melon
can he grown with or without irrigation.

of the melon, thus causing it to
rot after it is stored. Through experiments
in the Carolinas for two years
we have found that this melon requires
a long growing season. At two points
melons have been grown and stored

The interment was in the Cheraw
cemetery, on Monday morning.
