There was a big time at the Shiloh ,
ball park last Thursday, Shiloh ball
imrk is just 5 miles south of Chester- ,
field, near Mr. A. J. Smith's. On that
day the Pagcland team came down and .
played two games with the Shiloh team.
The first game went to Shiloh by a ,
score of 12 to 8 and the second game j
wont to Shiloh bv a score of 5 to 4. A
regular old fashioned picnic dinner was
served by the people of Shiloh and a
large crowd was present to, and did,
enjoy it.
Confederate Reunion At Jefferson.
Jeffersonlan.
At a meeting of the citizens of the
town Wednesday afternoon it was decided
that the Annual Confederate
Soldiers' reunion picnic wiuld be held
on August 11 in the grove at the Baptist
church.
Much interest was manifested at
the meeting and it is expected that
the reunion this year will surpass any
thing of its kind ever pulled off in Jefferson.
A number of prominent shakers
will lie here and make addresses
to the veterans and their friends. A
barbecue and basket picnic dinner will
be served on the grounds.
