An erroncus impression is being attempedted
to be perpecr.ited by some
it appears, relative to the Finley-Stevenson
episode at Pageland. We wish
to commend Mr. T. W. Belk for his
quick, thoughtful and levelheaded action
in quieting what seemed an approaching
general free for all knife
and fist fight among men who had lost
control of their tempers and better
judgement. While others were cheer- ]
ing on the principals, which enraged
opposing friends and caused serious
complications, Mr. Belk took prompt'
and decided action which put a quietus
on the whole proceedings in ten
seconds. Mr. Stevenson and Mr. Finlev
said that Mr. Belk did the best thing
that could have been done. We thank
you, Mr. Belk.
