, Chesterfield Boy Shoal? Negro.
Townley Redfearn, of McBee, shot
a negro by toe name of Geo. Blue, at
Keyser, N. C., on last Saturday night.
Mr. Redfearn was operating a mill
near Keyser for his uncle, Dr. 'J. D.
Ingram.
Mr. Blue, the former manager of,
the same mill, was killed by a r.eg o
about three months ago. The negro j
was tried on last Friday and found |
guilty and sentenced to be electro- J
cuted on Dec. 26-*h.
It seems that this made all the ne-1
groes mad, and on Saturday night,
about 7.30, Mr. Redfearn was in the j
postoffice, at which place he had an
office, paying olT his hands when the j'
negro, Geo. Blue, who was drinking,
came in and cursed him. Mr. Redfearn
oidered him out and the negro
again cursed him and reached to his 1 J
' pistol pocket to pull his gun and Mr.
Fiedfoam shot him twice. Ho died on j
Sunday morning at 7 o'clock. The
coroner of Moore county held an in-'
finest on Sunday afternoon and t':o
jury decided that the killing was it: --;
