church was filled laat Sunday night by
Rev. Mr. Grosse, a minister of the German
Lutheran church. Mr. Groase's
sermon was a good one and was thoroughly
enjoyed by those present. Mr.
Grosse is a native of Germany, having
been born, reared and educated in the
Fatherland. He came to America sev
eral years ago to minister to his counitrymen
of the Lutheran faith in the
North. His health failing, he moved
with his family to North Carolina, and

sickness of his brother, Mr. J. P. Maynard,
who is very ill with typhoid fever.
He found it necessary to take his
brother to the hospital in Fayetteville
for treatment.
Thanks to the street committee of
the town council, the large boulders
placed on the sidewalk at the corner of (
Market and Green streets, just about k
a year ago, attention to which nuisance M
