BAPTIST CHRISTMAS
PROGRAM
On Sunday evening at 7:30
p.m. a Christmas program en
titled “The Christmas Story’
will be presented at the Lydia
Baptist Church.
The program was written and
is being directed by Mrs. Ray
Riley. Mr. Riley will be the
narrator.
The public is invited.
After the program a social
hour will be enjoyed by all
and fruit will be distributed to

children.
OFFERING TO BE TAKEN
At 10 a.m. Sunday morning
there will be an assembly pro
gram for all the Lydia Baptist

Saturday evening a lovely
party was given for Mrs. George
James at the Recreation Build
ing of the Calvary Baptist
Church in Ware Shoals.
Mrs. James is the former
Miss Deborah Pitts of Ware
Shoals.

SALAD
3 small cans herring filet
(cut in small cubes)
3 cups boiled cubed beets
l 1 2 cups boiled cubed
potatoes
2 cups boiled cubed
carrots
3 cubed dill pickles
3 hard-boiled eggs
2 cubed apples
1 small raw onion
(cut in cubes)
Mix ingredients in a bowl
and toss lightly. Dice one
hard-boiled egg and mix in.
Mash 2 hard-boiled eggs
with a fork (yolks and
whites separately) and use
for making decorative
stripes across the top of the
salad. Garnish with parsley.
Prepare a sharp sauce
with fresh whipped cream or
sour cream, adding a little
mustard, vinegar and sugar
to taste. Color the sauce red
or pink with beet juice.
