planned for the following route.
S. C. Route 66 - from Route
1-26 easterly for a distance
of approximately 3.9 miles.
The proposed improvement
will include reconstruction of
a bituminous surface course,
not less than 20’ with adequate
shoulders to provide a two lane
facility.
Any interested citizen may
request that a public hearing
be held with respect to the
social and economic effects of
this improvement. In the event
such a request is received, a
future notice of the time and
place of the hearing will be
published. Written requests

1 tablespoon Parmesan
cheese
Peel potatoes and slice Es-
inch thick Place half of
potato slices in greased 9-
inch square baking dish.
Sprinkle with salt and basil.
Add layers of sliced onions,
asparagus and tomato slices,
sprinkling each layer with
salt and basil. Top with re
maining potato slices: sprin
kle with Parmesan cheese.
Cover with foil. Bake at 375
degrees for 40 minutes. Re
move cover and continue to
bake 10 to 15 minutes longer
or until potatoes are tender.

The Greatest Gift—Jesus Christ

I want to give each reader
of this column a Christmas
gift-Jesus Christ, the greatest
gift of all time. Each day dur
ing the year I have been trying
to give Him to you in some way.
I need Him. You need Him. We
can’t do without Him. He is
essential to our life. Just as
the sun, the center of our little
solar system is essential to
life on earth, so God is the
center of all life - my life,
your life.
Sometime ago a 73-year-old
man who died from malnutri
tion in a northern city was
named by police as the owner
of a fortune which totaled
$500,000. Police identified the
man as a retired government
employee who occupied a $1.70
a night room in a cheap hotel.
Police said the doctors at
tributed his death to complica
tions caused by malunitrition.
Keys found in the hotel room
led the police to check various
safety boxes which contained
$475,000 in cash and securities.
In addition they found papers
indicating the man had large
real estate holdings.
He died of maluntrition while
he had at his disposal enough
to live in comfort and luxury.
The same is occuring spiri
tually throughout the world.
The Lord Jesus Christ who was
rich beyond measure became
poor “that ye through His po
verty might be rich.”
If it seems strange for this
old man to die with a half
million dollars in his grasp,
it is spiritual insanity to die
unforgiven, unsaved, unsatis-
field with the “unsearcheable
riches of Christ" at our
disposal.
Jesus Christ whom I offer to
you this Christmas, will “supply
all your need according to His
riches in glory". He is all-
sufficient for all things.
To the artist He is the Master
Painter; to the architect. He is
the Great Designer, to the
baker, He is the Bread of Life,
to the biologist, He is the
Principle of Life, to the build
er, He is the Eternal Founda
tion, to the carpenter, He is the
Door, to the doctor, He is the
Great Physician, to the educa
tor, He is the Great Teacher,
to the astronomer, He is the
Bright and Morning Star, to
the florist, He is the Rose of
Sharon, to the musician, He is
the Master of Harmony, to the
geologist, He is the Rock of
Ages, to the engineer, He Is
the Source of All Power, to the
farmer, He is the Sower, to the
manufacturer. He is the Master
Craftsman, to the SfiftSsman,
He is the Prince of Peace, to
you, He will be all of these If
you will accept Him and He will
give you salvation, peace, health
and strength in body, mind and
spirit, guidance, power, hap
piness, eternal life-here and
hereafter.
