Dear Sally
BY SALLY SHAW
DEAR SALLY: I’m a bache
lor of 35 and becoming more
and more concerned over my
seeming inability to find the
girl who is completely right
for me. I date lots of girls,
but thus far haven’t come even
close to falling in love. Time
Is slipping by, and there’s noth
ing I want more than to fall in
love and share my life with a
good woman. I’d appreciate your
advice. STILL LOOKING.
DEAR STILL LOOKING:
There Is no set formula for
falling In love...it just hap
pens. I’m wondering if per
haps you aren’t being too
critical or analytical about the
girls you date. None of us is
perfect, you know. Marriage is
a complete sharing of every
thing, a loving tolerance of
one another’s seeming failings,
foibles, and faults. Just keep
playing the field, and try not
to le too “desperate" in your
searcli for Miss Right.
DEAR SALLY: I have been
dating a very attractive man for
some time who has now shaken
me up with the news that he is
married. He then told me that
his wife has been an invalid in
bed for the past two years,
and that his relationship with me
has been a great blessing, the
companionship of a good woman.
He has begged me to con
tinue going with him, vowingthat
he will keep everything strictly
on a “friendship" basis. Should
I do this 9 IOWA.
DEAR IOWA: No. Whatshort
of future would this promise
you? And besides, this is a
man who deceived you at the
beginning of your relationship,
to say nothing of his wife, a wife
for whom lie originally took a
sacred vow to cherish “insick
ness and in health."
