Banquet was held Friday, Nov.
20, at the Presbyterian College
dining hall. Approximately 189
4-H memtiers, parents, lead
ers and guests were present.
Kathy Berry, 4-11 Council
President, was the mistress of
ceremony.
Tom Rogers, District 4-H
Agent, recognized the leaders
for their years of service m
4-H Club work.
Ken Walker, representing
Duke Power Company, pre
sented special Electric Awards
to Martharene Nabors and
Clark Roach, Senior winners.
The Junior 'ainners, Angela
Knight, and Wayne Knight re
ceived a hair dryer and electric
drill. Donnie Taylor was Re
cruiting Award Winner.

E. M. Davis has returned
home from Self Memorial
Hospital where he recently
underwent surgery.
Miss Lois Timmerman con
tinues to tie a patient in Self
Memorial.
Mr. and Mrs. Hayne Work
man, Jr. attended the Clemson-
Carolina game at Clemson on
Nov. 21, spent the weekend in
Highlands, N. C. and visited
Mr. and Mrs. Rut Galloway in
Easley on Sunday evening.
The community was saddened
by the sudden passing of W.
Hudson Cole on Thursday.
Funeral services were held
at Bethabara on Saturday after
noon with the burial in Mount-
ville.
Mrs. W. W. Simpson of Clin
ton spent Saturday with
relatives here. Friends will be
interested to know that Mr.
Simpson is a patient in the
Veteran’s Hospital in Augusta
where he had recent surgery.
Mrs. J. H. Coleman and Mrs.
R. B. Segars attended the or
ganizational meeting of the
Laurens County Historical
Association at the Laurens
Court House on last Monday
evening.
Mrs. R. W. Griffin is in
Atlanta with Mr. andMrs. W.G.
Lovett and family. Mrs. Lovett
has been a recent surgical pa
tient at Northside Hospital but
is home now. Visiting Mrs.
Lovett on Friday were Mrs.
