I THE CHRONICLE, Clinton, S. C., Nov. 12, 1970—6-C Lydia Mill News MRS. CLYDE TRAMMELL, Doug Clark of Kensington, Maryland was a recent guest of Art Sanders. He wasaclass- mate of Art’s at Carson-New- man College and has just re turned from Vietnam. While he was here they visited a couple of days In Atlanta with some of their former class mates. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Bright of Startex and Mr. Wilbur Web- spent the week-end with Mrs. Bright’s sister and Mr. Weir’s mother, Mrs. J. W. Weir. Mr. Weir also visited Mr. and Mrs. David Word. Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Williams visited his sister, Mrs. Lucille Moo’-e and his nephews and their families, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Moore and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Moore in Union, Sunday afternoon they visited his son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Williams in Newberry. Phil Trammell of Anderson and Jeff Stone of Lyman visited their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell over the week-end. Rev. and Mrs. M. J. Sanders attended ttie funeral of Mrs. Carl Fortenberry in Roebuck on Monday. Misses Donna and Patti Davis of Laurens spent last Thursday with their aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Walker. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Tram mell and Miss Feroline Seay attended the funeral services of their aunt, Mrs. James Roland Kirby in Hendersonville, N. C. on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Seay, Maxie and Miss Teresa Seay were in Hendersonville on Saturday because of Mrs. Kirby’s death. Mrs. Bo Brown, Miss Cathy Brown, Dana and April Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Runyan spent Sunday at Cherokee, N. C. Miss Betty Harper of Green wood spent Saturday with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Fuller. On Sunday the Fullers were dinner guests of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Fuller. Mrs. £M>rreint>let4M#fc!ti ing her daughter, Mrs. Fuller and Mr. Fuller. and Mrs. Johnny Mann of Water loo and Miss Donna Davis of Laurens visited Mr. and Mrs. Frank Walker Sunday. SURPRISE PARTY ENJOYED Kanada Roach of Thornwell High School, celebrated his eighteenth birthday by having a surprise birthday party given by his sister and brother-in- law, Mr. and Mrs. Furman Childress of Beech Street. The Thornwell football coaches, team and "^erlead- ers and other guests enjoyed dancing to the music of Ricky Barker and his band of Laurens. The host and hostess served delicious party- refreshments to the group. Kanada received many nice and useful gifts. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. HowardRoach. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Roach were in Seneca on Tuesday of last week for the funeral of a cousin, Luther Capps, who died from injuries received in a wreck in N. C. BIRTHDAY DINNER Rev. M. J. Sanders was honored Sunday by his family with a birthday dinner, with Mrs. Sanders, MalcomSanders, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Sanders and daughters enjoying the dinner with him. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Bur dette attended a family reunion (Manning) in Iva on Sunday. Mrs. Charlie James under went surgery at Bailey Me morial Hospital on Monday. LAMBERT-BIRCH MORE Mr. and Mrs. Odell Lambert announce the marriage of their daughter Robbi, to James Birchmore, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Birchmore. The marriage was performed on October 31 in Laurens by Probate Judge Hewlette Was son. PITTS-JAMES Mrs. J. W. Wrenn Miss Deborah Lvnn Pitts of Ware Shoals became the bride of George Marvin James, Saturday November 7 in the Lydia Baptist Church Study with Rev. M. J. Sanders performing the ceremony. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie M. Pitts of Ware Shoals. The young couple will reside with the grooms parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie James on Pine Street for the present. BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT FALLAW Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Fallaw of Gaffney announce the birth of a son Charles Andrew, Jr. on October 27 in the Spart anburg General Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Fallaw are former Clinton residents. She is the former Pearl Birchmore of Lydia daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Birch more. Jimmy O’Shield’s PRE-REVIVAL PRAYER MEETINGS There will be prayer meet ings at the Lydia Baptist Church tonight (Thursday) and Friday nights at 7:30 p.m. before tlie revival which begins next week. BAPTIST REVIVAL Revival services will begin Monday, November 16 to run through Sunday November 22, at the Lydia Baptist Church with Rev. James Hughes, pastor of Rabun Creek Baptist Church, Laurens, as guest speaker. Rev. Hughes is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hughes of Clinton and a former supply pastor of Lydia Presbyterian Church. The visiting music director will be Rev. Richard Mjyers, pastor of the Coronaca Baptist Church, Greenwood. He will be remembered as the trumpet playing song leader as he has been at the Lydia Church be fore.
