GOES TO ALASKA
Sgt. and Mrs. James E. Ful
ler and children, formerly of
Fort Walton Beach, Florida
left last week for a three year
tour of duty in Fairbanks,
Alaska, where he will be at the
Ellison AFB. The family spent
a week here with her mother,
Mrs. J. T. Hamilton and other
relatives prior to leaving for
Alaska.
Mrs. Jon Koenig and son
Steve of Bicknell, Indiana is
svlsiting her parents, Mr. and
(Mrs. Claude Grady.
Mrs. Frances Williams and
children of Spartanburg spent
the week-end with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Cordell Sanders.
Mrs. W. P. Terrell spent
last week with relatives in
Carnesville, Ga.
Mrs. Mary Fallaw returned
home Friday after visiting her
daughter, Mrs. Douglas Rippy
and Capt. Rippy in Clemson.
Douglas Jr. returned home with
his grandmother for a visit
Mr. and Mrs. Prue Waters
attended the Newberry-Guilford
football game in Newberry on
Saturday. Marion Waters, a
Newberry player returned home
with his parents until Sunday.

Lydia Recognition Service Held

On November 1, the Lydia
Baptist Church held a re
cognition service for the Sun
day School members who have
perfect attendance. Each mem
ber was presented the pin
representative of the number
of years of perfect attendance.
The twenty two members re
ceiving pens represent a total
of 112 years of Sunday School
Attendance.
For the new Sunday School
year the school has launched
an extensive program of visita
tion and enlistment under the
leadership of Mr. James Mc-
Elhannon, Sunday School Di
rector.

Wins Medal
In Vietnam
Army Sergeant Randall S.
Lanford, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Harry M. Lanford, Route 1,
Clinton, recently received the
Air Medal in Vietnam.
Sgt. Lanford earned the award
for meritorious service while
participating in aerial fight in
support of ground operations in
Vietnam.
Sgt Lanford has been serv
ing as a squad leader with
Company B, 1st Battalion, 12th
Cavalry of the 1st Cavalry Div
ision (Airmobile). He entered
the Army in January 1969 and
was last stationed at Ft. Jack-
son. He holds the Combat In
fantryman Badge.
The 22-year-old soldier is a
1966 graduate of Clinton High
School.
His wife, Mary, lives on Route
1, Mountville.
