Body Recovered From Lake
CROSS HILL-The body of a
24 year old Greenville County
man was pulled from the
waters of Lake Greenwood at
12:25 p.m. last Thursday after
two days and nights of drag
ing operations by members of
three area rescue squads.
Laurens County Coroner
Marshall Pressley said Thurs
day that the body of James
Edward Stagg, 24, was located
about 250 feet from shore in
water about 20 feet deep. The
coroner ruled that death was
due to drowning.
The body was located in the
area near Camp Fellowship
where dragging operations had
been in progress since shortly
after it was reported. The vic
tim lost his balance and fell
from a boat while attempting to
retrieve a water ski from
the lake, according to officers.
Stagg’s two companions in the
boat reported the victim did
not surface after falling in the
water about 3 p.m. Tuesday,
Sept. 22.

1971 CHEVROLET CAPRICE—The
1971 regular Chevrolets are the most
luxurious the division has ever built.
There is greater glass area for im
proved visability. Glass and body con
tours are more rounded. Flush lif-up
door handles add to body smoothness.
The Caprice gets added distinction
with a special large grille, deep rib
bed wheel covers and standard rear
fender skirts. Wheelbase of regular
Chevrolet is extended 2.6 inches for
added riding comfort and increased
rear leg room. The body has a new
flow-through ventilation system and
greater strength double-panel roof
construction. The new chassis and
suspension system give improved ride
and handling. A power disc/drum
brake system is standard. The new
Chevrolets are now on sale at Plaxi-
co Chevrolet. 400 West Main Street.

DEAR SALLY
from work with unexpected
guests for dinner, usually bus
iness associates from out of
town. I’m a good cook, but with
out any previous warning I
seldom have enough food on
hand for any special meal, and
as a result I often an compelled
to serve hamburgers. Then my
husband has the nerve to com
plain about the kind of food I
serve to these important guests
of his! How about this?

DEAR SALLY: I’m a boy of
14 with a financial problem. I
get an allowance of $4 a week
from my parents, for which I
do lots of things in return
like cleaning the yard, cutting
the grass, carrying out the
trash cans, and stuff like that.
I have several buddies who get
twice as much allowance as I
do, and don’t have to do a thing
for their money. What do you
say about this? MR.
DEAR JR.: You have no
problem! Instead you have the
big satisfaction of knowing that
your’re doing something for the
money you receive from your
parents. Kids who are handed
money for doing nothing, just
existing, usually run into big
problems later in life. The
things you do in return for your
allowance are little enough when
you take into consideration all
the “fringe benefits* you re
ceive in your good home.
DEAR SALLY: My husband
has the annoying habit every
now and then of arrivine home
DEAR HOSTESS: Tell your
husband that he’ll either have
to give you plenty of advance
notice that he’s bringing guests
home or dinner or bring some
steaks home with him...other
wise, the guest menu will con
tinue to be hamburgers.
