arrived home after nearly a
year’s tour of duty in Vietnam.
After his leave he will be sta
tioned in Lexington, Ky. Mrs.
Kathleen Willard and Bill of
Asheville, N. C. spent the week
end with her mother, Mrs. Ver-
ner Dees, coming to be with her
brother and family upon his re
turn home.
Mrs. Larry Bennett and child

Russell Trammell left Tues
day of last week for his new
station at the Naval Air Sta
tion at Oceana, Va. He and
Mrs. Trammell and daughter,
Angela are residing at Virginia
Beach, Va., after visiting with
his parents and with her mother
in Jacksonville, Florida.

Mr. and Mrs. Colie Abercrombie
of Morehead City, N. C. who
also visited her mother, Mrs.
Rachel Moseley, Mr. and Mrs.
Casey Abercrombie and Mr. and
Mrs. Walter Davis of Green

Mr. and Mrs. Guy Parrish are
visiting with their daughter,
Mrs. Ed Wells, Jr. in Laurens,
while she is recuperating from
facial surgery in Self Memorial
Hospital in Greenwood after in
juring her face in a fall at her
home.
Mrs. Floyd Emery, Mrs. Gro
ver Wilson, Jr. and Michael and
Mr. and Mrs. Odis Emery and
Russell were recent visitors of
Mr. and Mrs. Odis Fuller in
Union.
Mr. Guy Emery Sr. visited
Mrs. Floyd Emery and Mr. and
Mrs. GroverWilson, Jr. on Wed
nesday of last week. On Satur
day, Mrs. Carolyn Tucker of
Charlotte, N. C. visited Mr.
and Mrs. Wilson Jr., coming
also to visit her father, Mr.
Wilson, Sr. who is a patient in
Bailey Memorial Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Motte
of Greenville spent last Thurs
day with his brother, W. L.
Motte and Mrs. Motte.
Mrs. Mary Fallaw and Mr.
and Mrs. Herbert Fallaw visited
Mr. and Mrs. David Storay and
family in Greenville and Capt.
and Mrs. DouglasRippy inClem-
son on Saturday. Pam, Kim and
David Jr. accompanied them to
Clemson and also to the Clem-
son-Virginia Football game.
Phil Storay returned home with
his grandmother and uncle and
aunt for a visit.
CHURCH OF GOD
HOMECOMING SUNDAY
The Lydia Church of God will
have Home-Coming on Sunday in
their newly purchased church,
the former Lydia Methodist
Church, on Pine St.
Sunday School is at 10 a.m.
and the worship service at 11
a.m.
Rev. Mickie Thomas of Den
mark will be the guest speaker
at the 11 a.m. hour. Rev. Thomas
is one of Lydia’s young men.
Lunch will be served at 1p.m.
at the Church of God Fellow
ship Hall on Cedar St. next to
the old church building.
Everyone is to bring well
filled basket and beverage. Pla
tes, cups, ice ect. will be fur
nished by the church.
At 2 p.m. a song service will
be held, featuring the Epps
Family of Belton, the Sanders
Family and also the Messin-
gers Trio of Cleveland, Tenn.
There will also be congrega
tional singing and local groups.
The public is cordially
vited to the day^ activities.

Union.
The Lydia Woman’s Club met
on Thursday evening for their
regular meeting with the presi
dent, Mrs. David Word, presid
ing.
The devotional, from Psalm
103 was given by Mrs. Jimmy
Meeks.
The program, Arts andCrafts
was led by Mrs. Sidney Ayer,
assisted by Mrs. Meeks.
The club members tried their
hand atpaintingwith the different
types ofpaint, crayons, chalk and
charcoal.
Mrs. Ayer, who is teaching
and studying Art at Presbyterian
College gave many pointers on
the many arts she was studying.
Delicious refreshments were
served. Mrs. Myrtie Alewine
and Mrs. Tommy McElveen were
hostesses for the meeting.
