Our news papers are constantly report- ing cases of suicide, violent physical attacks and even death, as;the result of mental and spi ritual Illness. the good Lord never intend ed for people to suffer as they do| He planned for them to be healthy and happy. He provided a ;Book of Instructions for us to Uhls end. These instructions wdrk wonderfully when satis factorily followed. We have miny documented case histor ies to prove this. Ve are encountering an in creasing number of cases of th$se whoaresufferingphysical illness as the result of unbal anced living. These patients not only suffer personally, but also inflict suffering on mem bers of their families. r - The terrifying increase in alcoholism and its tragic con sequences reflects this un balanced living. These unfortu nate sufferers, seeking mental relief from their problems are too often misled by the lying propaganda of liquor advertis ing, which presents this vicious drug in attractive form. How many lives, homes, bus inesses have been destroyed by liquor, eternity only will tell. Many will say that I am pre judiced, but if they had to lis ten to and witness the misery produced by this awful habit, they will understand why so many of us oppose liquor in any form at any time. Again and again I have had patients ’ admit to me that all of their troubles stem back to the use of alcohol. I have never heard of a case where alcohol ever solved a problem. It only aggravates them. Modern living subjects most of us to inward tension and nervous strain, which, if unre leased, produces many physical ailments and hastens death. Many people die or take their own lives prematurely as the result of bottled up emotions. There are three releases for these inward tensions: (1) Talk them out with a wise and under standing counselor or friend such as a minister, priest, or rabbi, or physician, (2) Physi cal exercise under the direction of a physician, (3) Prayer of confession, mental, and spiri tual conversion, Bible study, active participation in the work of the church, sharing Christ’s gospel of peace and good-will with others. At Old Ice House All that piece, parcel or lot of land situate, lying and being in Laurens Township, Laurens County, South Carolina, con taining 75 acres, more or less, located near Torrington Plant on old Laurens-Clinton High way; bounded now or formerly as follows: on North by lands of Jack H. Young and William Bailey Owens which were later conveyed to Essie M. Holliday; on East by Quitman Leake Place, now or formerly owned by C. B. Holland, on South by lands of McCarson and Quinn, formerly known as portion of Old Anderson Place, and on West by lands of Lena C. And- derson. This is the same land conveyed to J. R. Holliday by deed of Jack H. Young, May '16, 1940, recorded in Deed Book 76, pg. 132 in the Clerk's Of fice for said County. Said lands were conveyed by J. R. Holli day to Essie M. Holliday by deed of February 27, 1950, re corded in Deed Book 99, pg, 184 in said Clerk’s Office. Said lands were owned by said Essie M. Holliday, also known as Essie Mulligan Holliday, at time of her death. ALSO, all that piece, parcel or lot of land situate and being in Laurens Township, County and State aforesaid, containing 121 acres, more or less, lo cated on or near the old Lau rens-Clinton Highway, near Torrington Plant and joininga- bove described land. Said lands are a portion of the lands con veyed to Essie M. Holliday a/n/a Essie Mulligan Holliday, by deed of J. R. Holliday, Jan uary 6, 1941, recorded in Deed Book 77 at page 171 in the Clerk’s Office for saidCounty. Said deed conveyed 153 and 1/2 acres, more or less and were the remaining lands owned by Essie M. Holliday at time of her death after deducting the following conveyances: Deed to J. C. Penland, Febru ary 10, 1966, for one acre, re corded in Deed Book 169, pg. 275; Deed to R, D. Kelley, Aug ust 8, 1966, for ten acres, re corded in Deed Book 172, pg, 593; Deed to John D. Snelgrove, dated March 8, 1968, for two acres, recorded in Deed Book 182, pg, 311; Deed to James L. Osborne, July 1, 1968, for land one half acres, recorded In Deed Book 184 at page 486; deed to James D. Kidd, Aug ust 1, 1968, for 10 acres, re corded in Deed Book 185, page 213; and deed toClydeW. Bra- zill, July 18,1969, for 9 and one- fourth acres, recorded In Deed Book 192, page 377, In the Clerk’s Office for saidCounty. The above described tracts of land being all the real estate owned by said Essie M. Holli day at the time of her death. TERMS OF SALE: ForCashthe successful bidder, other than the petitioner herein, im mediately upon the conclusion of the bidding, shall deposit with the Probate Court the sum of five (5%) per cent of purchase price as a guarantee of his good faith in the bidding. The same to be applied to the pur chase price upon his complying with the terms of sale, other wise to be paid to Plaintiff for credit on the indebtedness. In the event the successful bid der should fail to make such deposit, or should fail to comply with the terms of sale, the said lands shall be re-sold on the same or some subsequent Salesday on the same terms, at risk of the defaulting pur chaser.
