SENIOR CITIZENS MEET
The Senior Citizens meeting
OX POWER—What
in the jet
age?! Yea, this is an ox, and it is
in Laurens County. L. A. Dickson
of Clinton says he can get his work
done and make money growing out
oxen. Mr. Dickson has quite a large
garden, and he keeps it clean with
the ox. He has unusual vegetables,
as well as the usual. You can see in
the background he has a new, mod
ern home. Mr Dickson can be re
membered as a brother to Pat Dick
son, who for years managed the
Workman Farm in the Hopewell
Community. The big ox is estimat
ed to weigh about 1700 pounds, and
according to Mr. Dickson, the ox has
to rest now and then during the hot
weather. However, Mr. Dickson, be
ing 72 years old, says that he and
the ox go at about the same pace!
will be held on September 15 at
10 a.m. at the Joanna Clubhouse.
Each one is to bring a covered
dish for the dinner. Come and
enjoy the get-together.

TIP
A fuse is a protective de
vice. though it may seem
more like a nuisance when
one blows out That, how
ever, is where the protection
comes in. When a fuse blows,
it means that the wiring the
fuse is designed to protect is
dangerously overloaded.
Simply putting in a new one
is not enough. Find and cor
rect the cause of the blow
out.
