MOON ROGERS-BARR WEDDING Miss Jacqueline Rogers and Mr. Gene Barr were united in Holy Matrimony on August 8 at Mother Zion A ME Church in New York City. Mrs. Josetta Lindsay of this city served as matron of honor. The reception was held at Celebrity Hall immediately fol lowing the ceremony. Attending the wedding other than Mrs. Lindsay the brides cousin was Mrs. Bessie Hailey, aunt of the bride. Mrs. Barr is the daughter of the former, Miss Willie B. Blakely who formerly lived in the Gideon Hill section of our city. Rev. and Mrs. W. L. Hunter, Mr. and Mrs. Mac Hunter and Mrs. Mary Holland spent the past week-end in Raleigh, N.C. with Mr. and Mrs. Lee Adams and Mrs. Mary Sanders. Mr. and Mrs. Riddick Harley of Cleveland, Ohio and Mr. James Hailey of McCormick, spent a recent visit with Mr. and Mrs. James Hailey on Lydia Mill Road. Miss Sandra Fuller and Mr. Kenneth Irby have resumed their studies at Allen Univer sity, Columbia, where they are sophomores. Miss Vivian Harley has ac cepted a teaching position in the LProvidence, Rhode Island School system. She left recently to enter upon her new work. Spending a recent vacation with Mrs. Daisy Hearst and other family members were Mrs. Lillie Pitts, Mrs. Martha Workman, Mrs. Evelyn Blake ly, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Pitts and son Gregory, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Wood and Denise and Mr. J. C. Buford all of Buffalo, N. Y. Mrs. Eddie M. Jeter and niece Janice are in the city after spending some time in Freeport, L. L, New York. Miss Georgia Mae Jeter and Miss Joanne Jeter left the city recently for Allen University where they will study this year. Miss Georgia Mae Jeter was the recipient of a speed certi ficate in typing during the past school year. Attending the Quarterly Union Meeting of the New Eno- ree Association that was held at Boozer Chapel Baptist Church were Mr. Hubert San ders, Mr. Thomas Rice, Rev. and Mrs. Peter Moon and child ren and Miss Lucile Dillard all of Mount Moriah Baptist Church. Various church clubs whose regular meetings were can celled during the revival meet ings period will resume their meetings in this month. Practical Nursing Exam Set Examinations for the next class of Practical Nursing at Bailey Memorial Hospital, Clinton will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, September 8th and 9th, 1970, in the classroom at the hospital. Hours for test ing will be 8 am - 12 noon each day. You must attend both days of testing to complete the series. Those interested in attend ing next years class are urged to plan for this examination. Examinations will not be held again for next years class. Plans are for the class to being in mid-October. Graduation will be held, for the third graduating class of the school, Sunday, October 18, 1970 at Clinton High School. Si i 51 « <n w Family Finance Net Income Tops $8 Million Following the regular quart erly meeting of the Board of Directors of Family Finance Corporation held today, Joseph H. Louis, president, announced the consolidated net income of the Company was $5,730,268 or, $1.17 a share of CommonStock. At June 30, 1970, there were 4,415,169 shares of Common Stock outstanding. Net income for the fiscal year ended June 30, 1969, was $8,074,557 nr, $1.70 a share on the Common Stock, figures for both years based on the average number of shares outstanding during the year, and after preferred divi dends. Notes and contracts re ceivable at the year end total ed $340,731,608, a 5.6C in crease over the Notes and Con tracts Receivable at the end of the previous year when the figure was $322,579,030. During the year, 607,100 transactions totaling $428,686, 091 were recorded. The prior year's volume was $424, 331,166. Retail sales of the mer chandising subsidiaries totaled $24,525,764 for the year as compared to $16,478,31] a year earlier. At June 30, 1970 the Company offered its consumer finance services through 458 offices and conducted merchandising operations through 62 retail furniture stores. The Board declared a quart erly dividend of 15<? a share on the Company’s $1.00 par value Common Stock, and a dividend of 62-l/2<? a share on the $2.50 Preferred Stock, Series A.
